Melanie and Wanda and very different in turn and the way it ended was so amazing. I would love to see what happens next and enjoy another adventure with these wonderful characters. Honestly, the book’s beginning was pretty rough. This isn’t a flashy plot with guns blazing, but instead focuses on relationships, day to day existence, discovery, trust in both human and alien.

I read this novel in and found it much different from her Twilight series and much better than the movie of this book. Wanderer, or Wanda, as she’s known in the novel, is my favorite of the characters. The second time through the first part made more sense and I loved it even more. Meyer huedped a great job with the story-telling, combining romance, friendship and a bigger conflict. Lw you’re unsure whether or not to give this book a try, let me be the first to suggest you give it a chance because you might just be surprised like I was.


Ian also ended up having the same ability, even though initially he was against Wanda’s presence in their little band of humans. Most helpful customer reviews on Llbro. The characters are compelling and you like almost all of them. Meyer’s writing has really improved over the course of her career and I feel like this book really showed what she could do better than anything else she’s written. This is the only way they can exist off their home planet and they have invaded and taken over many planets. Considering I’m not a big fan of books about aliens, the fact that I actually liked this one is a big deal!

While I didn’t particularly care for her other series the one that features a certain sparkly vampireStephenie Meyer certainly surprised me with The Host.
