I genuinely hated David in the previous books not because he was the love interest, but because he was soooo boring. But before those feelings get a chance to develop, Laurel goes running after him. It was a fine beginning with promise.

At least view spoiler [all the trolls and Yuki are dead hide spoiler ]because even though Laurel figures out how important humans are to Avalon view spoiler [apparently, human DNA is the key ingredient in a universal antidote she has to make to save Avalon hide spoiler ]the Queen’s still the traditionalist with a stick up her a- desperate to keep Avalon the way it is.
But in Destined she really grew as a character and I couldn’t help admiring her.
I’ve just finished Destined and can’t find a single thing to say about it because it’s not very memorable. There’s almost never a bored moment, and I usually had almost no time to catch my breath. Destined by Aprilynne Pike series Wings 4.

If you have not read this series, or if you have started the series but didn’t finish it, then I highly recommend you do. Another reviewer noted that with everything that was going on, and there was a fair amount of action, it actually felt like nothing was happening. In Wings and Spells we get Laurel’s voice; in Illusions and Destined Tamani’s voice joins her, showing her increase in diversity.
